The #girlSTEM Conference is just a week away!
We are proud to announce Dow Chemical Company as the Gold Sponsor of this year’s conference. Dow is among a select group of local companies committed to girls’ science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in Bucks County. Additional sponsors include: Comcast, Bucks County Workforce Development Board, and Parx Casino (Silver Sponsors); and Ann’s Choice Erickson Living, BB&T, Huntington Valley Bank, and Wegmans (Bronze Sponsors).
The 2016 #girlSTEM Conference continues to expand with more than 800 middle and high school girls registered to attend interactive seminars with women working in (STEM). This event is the biggest science, technology, engineering, and math conference for students in Bucks County and is funded entirely by local sponsors and donors.
The fifth annual #girlSTEM Conference, which will take place on May 26, 2016, is designed to inspire middle and high school girls to pursue STEM careers. With a diverse range of fields represented – agriculture, banking, physics, nursing, marine biology, real estate, engineering, app design, and many more – girls really get a chance to see what they can be.
The conference is led and coordinated by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22, is sponsored by the United Way of Bucks County’s Women’s Initiative, and is being hosted by Delaware Valley University. Hosting the conference on a university campus also allows students to experience a college environment.
