United Way of Bucks County has launched its annual Holiday Gift Card Drive, now in its 11th year, to ensure that older kids across every zip code in Bucks County feel valued and supported this holiday season.
This year, United Way aims to reach about 1,000 local teens and tweens who are too old for traditional toy drives.
“The young people we serve are facing real challenges. Some are in foster care or living with grandparents. Some have families who are just going through incredibly tough times. A holiday gift card is a reminder that they matter and someone is thinking of them,” says Marissa Christie, President & CEO at United Way of Bucks County.
United Way encourages community members to make direct online contributions rather than donating gift cards. This allows the organization to purchase gift cards in bulk at discounted rates—stretching every dollar to help more kids.
“Thanks to the compassion of our community, this program continues to thrive,” Christie added. “I am so grateful to people who understand how much a gift card means to a teen in need. Our Holiday Gift Card Drive donors spread so much hope and joy to kids who need it.”
Donations can be made online at www.uwbucks.org/giftcarddrive or by mailing a check to United Way of Bucks County, 413 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. Please write “Gift Card Drive” in the memo line.
